We see God in children and there is no other festival other than Janmashtami which gives plenty of opportunities to involve children in the celebrations. Although it is a joyous Hindu festival, but India being a diverse country where we believe in celebrating all festivals with equal harmony, our children at Montessori Sr. Secondary School, came together to celebrate this day with their friends and teachers. We were thrilled to see the enthusiasm and participation of our little ones and parents in making the crown craft and learn the song.

They dressed up like little Krishna and Radha and we truly appreciate the efforts taken by the parents. Celebrating any festival is incomplete till we know the beautiful reasons behind it. We decided to make our children familiar with the actual story of birth of Lord Krishna with the help of a lovely video and narration by teachers. Final outcome was as expected, our children learnt why Lord Krishna decided to take birth and how he protected people from evil king Kamsa. Our children enthusiastically displayed their crown craft, flutes and ethic wear. The happy faces of our children made the festival even happier.

Montessorians celebrates, Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 78th year of India’s independence. Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 78th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
